Job Title: Project Design Engineer for Municipal Group

About the Job: Rii, a rapidly growing civil engineering firm is seeking a Civil Design Engineer with at least 4 years of experience in design of municipal water and sanitary sewer engineering, roadway and site development projects. The position entails performing design and plan production. 

Qualification and Experience

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering

  • Ability to become a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio within two years

  • Previous project design (utility, grading, site design, and storm and sanitary sewer systems) experience desired

  • Strong knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D software packages and Microstation and Geopak/InRoads

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments, work in an environment to learn quickly, take initiative and interact with a variety of people located in Indiana and other Rii offices


Duties Include:

  • Candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects (civil/site and water resources)

  • Prepare plans, specifications, and detailed design drawings

  • Attend both internal project meetings and client meetings

  • Perform design calculations and conduct investigation analysis toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications

  • Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings

  • Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments.
